DIN 933 remains a common market reference; the current international reference is the ISO 4017 family. Do not assume an old DIN and current ISO are automatically identical—check dimensions, wrench size, tolerances and the current revision.

Use the current standard revision, manufacturer datasheet and project specification. A title or standard number alone does not establish technical equivalence.

Identify the part and revision.
Describe application, environment and acceptance criteria.
Include document requirements and sourcing restrictions.
Resolve exceptions and alternatives with technical approval.
