A good technical RFQ

Product name + size may not be enough. Sharing the standard/revision, material, property class, finish, quantity, delivery requirement, brand restrictions, drawing and required certificates together greatly reduces quotation risk.

Before ordering

Use the current standard revision, manufacturer datasheet and project specification. A title or standard number alone does not establish technical equivalence.

  1. Identify the part and revision.
  2. Describe application, environment and acceptance criteria.
  3. Include document requirements and sourcing restrictions.
  4. Resolve exceptions and alternatives with technical approval.
